I pray for forgiveness for sex scene roles

Give him any role and actor Alexander Osei will execute it without any difficulty. However, when it comes to romantic scenes, his religious background makes it difficult for him.

The actor who has featured in movies like Bloody Rain, Behind The Secret, Jackie Goes To School, Our Community School, School Pool Party, Only You, Born Again Sisters, Comfort Zone, Before Noon, No More Love, Banana Babes and Faithful Sin, says he prays for forgiveness anytime he does a romantic scene.

“I wept after shooting a movie like Comfort Zone where I kissed a girl. I know it is a sin to kiss or be romantic with someone you are not married to, but I had to do it because of the moral lessons the movie had to offer,” he told Showbiz in an interview.

Alexander who has worked with the likes of Kalsoume Sinare, Emmanuel Armah, Prince David Osei, Jackie Appiah, Roselyn Ngissah, Eddie Nartey, Toosweet Annan and Christabel Ekeh, said he prays before and after a romantic scene and he hopes God forgives him.

The 24 -year-old actor, whose first role was in a movie called Victims in 2011, said his parents have persistently told him to stop acting, but his passion for his craft makes it impossible for him to do so.

One thing Alexander is not happy about is female actors exchanging sex for roles: “I don’t want to mention names but I know some of my female colleagues offer their bodies for roles, which is wrong. Selling your body for roles without having any talent does not make you a good actor,” he said.

In the next five years, Alexander wants to be a household name like Majid Michel, John Dumelo and Kofi  Adjorlolo. He has plans to produce his own movie and help new talents who want go into acting but do not know how to go about it.
