RUMOURS: Barcelona wary of Arsenal's Nolito interest
Luis Enrique is desperate to sign Nolito, but several factors are preventing the Catalan club getting the deal over the line, including interest from the Premier League
Barcelona continue to work on the signing of Celta Vigo's Nolito - but they are wary of Arsenal’s interest in the player.
Mundo Deportivo report that the Premier League club - plus an unnamed Italian side - will pay the Spain forward’s €18 million release clause, while Barca are working on a loan until the end of the season, when they would then pay €20 million.
The Catalan club club are unable to spend too much money in January, which is why they are hopeful of finalising the deal in the summer.
However, there is no rush, as January is still young and Nolito is currently out with an injury.
Meanwhile, Barca are still working on an operation to bring Denis Suarez back from Villarreal, too.
Luis Enrique would prefer Nolito, but he has also given the green light to Suarez’s signing - although only one will be signed this month.
Villarreal, though, are not keen to let go of one of the players who has helped them rise to fourth in the league this season
