Mfantsipim headmaster asked to step aside for charging illegal fees

The headmaster of Mfantsipim School in Cape Coast, Mr. John Kwamina Ankomah Simpson has been asked to step aside following allegations of charging illegal fees.
Graphic Online’s reporter in Cape Coast, Shirley Asiedu Addo reports that a letter signed by the Director General of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has been sent to Mr Simpson..
The letter is asking that he step aside from all responsibilities as headmaster of the school pending further investigations into the collections.
“As a result of the collection of illegal fees from students of Mfantsipim School, you are directed to immediately step aside from responsibilities as the Headmaster of the school, pending further investigations into the illegal collection," the letter stated.
The Central Regional Director of Education, Mr Bartholomew Ofori, has been directed to act in his stead.
